Sometimes I order IV line, oxygen, pulse ox, cxr and EKG immediately before the physical exam, but I get feedback that I should have done the physical exam first. Can you explain this?

There are 20+ cases that are emergent and you will need to do intervention prior to physical exams. However, urgent or non-urgent cases can afford a 5 minute physical exam which is supposed to guide your workup.
